About Sherpa Labs
We build the RL environments and training data that frontier AI labs use to make their models better at real work. We’re a small team in San Francisco, backed by Y Combinator and angels from OpenAI, Google, Meta and Cognition.

About the role
You’ll own our finance data projects from the first call to final delivery. You’ll work directly with researchers at frontier labs to scope what their models need, staff each project from our network of finance experts and hold the work to the standard a senior investor would.
What you’ll do
- Scope new projects with lab researchers and turn their goals into a clear plan.
- Staff and lead teams of finance experts, and keep the work moving.
- Set the quality bar for problems, answers and grading, and review work against it.
- Own delivery end to end: timelines, budgets and the client relationship.
- Bring what you learn on each project back into how we build data.
What we look for
- 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, consulting or a similar finance role.
- Strong financial modeling skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- You like owning outcomes, even when the path isn’t clear.
- Low ego: you want direct feedback and act on it fast.
